This story is called The Little Red Hen, written by Florence White Williams, and adapted and read by Madeline Walton-Hadlock and Lorena Romero. This is a LibraryCall recording. Once upon a time, there was a little red hen who lived in a barn. She spent almost all of her time walking around, looking here and there, digging everywhere to find worms. She loved fat, delicious worms, and she felt like they were absolutely necessary for the health of her children. As soon as she found a worm, she would call “cluck, cluck” to her little chicks and they would come running.

There was once a kind elephant who lived in a beautiful green forest. The elephant had a heart as big as his enormous gray body, but he was lonely. So one day, he decided to go in search of a friend. He lumbered along until came upon a small brown animal sitting at the base of a tree. The animal had enormous ears and a fluffy white tail.
