(Caribbean music steel pan music plays) Papa Bois was traveling through the forests of Trinidad in the Caribbean islands. Papa Bois' beard of leaves rustled against his face as he walked amongst the trees with his goat-like feet. He is known as the Ancient One and never met anyone like himself, but that was okay because he felt no difference between himself and all the living things in the world. Papa Bois was very old and had seen many things in the past, but he was also large, strong, and muscular. Sometimes he would change in different forms when needed.

Sheltering Wings

Transcript:
The air was bone chillingly cold. The sound of the sleds filled the streets with winter cheer. Though the town was filled with joy, the air was menacing to the lovely little animals who could not seek shelter. The streets were quiet in mid-afternoon. Workers hurried to their offices; every dog remained at home; not a bird was to be seen or heard. The sparrows had been forced to hide themselves from the cold.

Transcript:
This story is called The Fairy Flower by Louisa M. Alcott, adapted and recorded by LibraryCall. In a large and pleasant garden sat little Annie, all alone. She seemed very sad. Drops of tears like dew fell fast upon the flowers beside her. The warm wind lifted up her shining hair, while the sunbeams made little rainbows in her tears. Annie, tell me why you weep,” said a low voice in her ear. Looking up, the child beheld a small figure standing on a vine leaf at her side.
