The Three Little Pigs w/Intro
Transcript:
Welcome to the Merced County Dial a Story. The story you will be listening to today is The Three Little Pigs, performed for you by the Merced library theater players.
Narrator: Once upon a time, there were three little pigs Hayden, Woody, and Mortimore. They were old enough to live on their own and build their own houses. There was the first little pig, Hayden, who was a cool dude but was quite impatient.
Pig 1/Hayden: ‘Sup my little dudes and dudettes! I’m making a really cool abode out of straw!
Narrator: The second little pig, Woody, liked to take care of nature and always recycled.
Pig 2/Woody: Hidey-ho, kids! I’m making a nice house made out of wood. Made with trees from a renewable forest, ay!
Narrator: And the third little pig, Mortimer, was the most careful of the three and liked to take his time making sure things came out just right.
Pig 3/Mortimer: Hello everyone! I’m building a sturdy 3 bedroom/2 bathroom house made from bricks. It will be strong enough to weather even the biggest tornado. Not that there are ever tornadoes in California, but it always pays to play it safe!
Narrator: It wasn’t long until the Big Bad Wolf noticed the three little pigs hard at work building their houses. Seeing all their hard work made him hungry,
Hayden: This is a sweet house if I do say so myself.
Narrator: First the wolf went to Hayden’s straw house.
Big Bad Wolf: Little pig, little pig, let me come in!
Hayden: Not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin dude!
Narrator: Well, the wolf liked to do yoga, so he had a super-powerful set of lungs.
*Big Bad Wolf starts breathing deeply
Big Bad Wolf: Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in!
*Big Bad Wolf blows house down. Hayden runs to his brother’s house.
Hayden: Bro! Bro!
Woody: Hey what’s all the commotion, come in.
Big Bad Wolf: Little pigs, little pigs, let me in!
Hayden and Woody: Not by the hair of our chinny-chin-chins, ay!
Big Bad Wolf: Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in!
*House blows down; both pigs run to last brother’s house.
Hayden and Woody: Hey bro the big bad wolf is coming ay!
Big Bad Wolf: Little pigs. Little pigs. Let me come in!
All pigs: Not by the hair of our chinny-chin-chins!
Big Bad Wolf: Then I’ll huff. And I’ll puff. And I will blow your house in!
Narrator: But no matter how hard he huffed and puffed the third little pig’s house would not come down.
*Big Bad Wolf is wheezing and out of breath
Big Bad Wolf: Whew! That pig sure knows how to build a house! No problem, I’ll just climb down the chimney! Ha ha ha ha
*Pigs are all worried.
Hayden: Dudes he’s climbing up on the roof, he’s go to come in through the chimney.
Mortimer: It’ll be fine. I just put a pot of hearty veggie stew on the fire.
*Big Bad Wolf falls into stew.
Big Bad Wolf: Ouch. *Sniff-sniff* Mmm, something smells yummy!
*Big Bad Wolf realizes he is the one being cooked and jumps out running away yelping.
*Three Pigs rejoice: Yay he’s gone!
Narrator: And so, the Big Bad Wolf ran away, never to bother the three little pigs ever again. And the three little pigs learned the easier way isn’t always the best way. Hard work and dedication always pays off.
